My little big bubs is 19 months! I think based on recent tantrums, his broad range of vocabulary and his ability to push every single boundary makes me think he’s already TWO.

He’ll gladly announce when he toots
If I let out a good burp (it happens) he’ll follow up with “Good one!”
Ask him auntie is drinking and his answer is always BEER
Has the blondest, shaggiest COVID mullet
Knows how to operate the microwave and washer and dryer
Consumes his weight in yogurt, veggie straws, fruit snacks and shredded cheese
BIG into the seasonal spookies!
Waves at everyone.
Peanut Butter & Jelly is his latest favorite jam #punintended
Spits out water just as much as he drinks it
Getting really good on his balance bike and has no fear
Wears 18-24 clothes, size 5 diapers and size 7 shoes
Loves his puppy
He’s officially a swimmer and we’re all so proud of him
We’re starting to call animals by what they are vs. what sounds they make
A big fan of coloring and not just on paper
Does SILENT SCREAM
Kinda obsessed with his brother
Has a favorite blankie
Kid can RUN. fast.
If you ask him a question he might reply with “Not yet.” or “In a minute.”
Everything. Papa.
Wants to DRIVE now all the time.

I love you something fierce kiddo. You continue to be SO MUCH WORK but I consume you and love on you and take it all in because no matter how hectic you might make our days you fill it with just as much JOY. You love to cuddle and show affection and it makes my heart melt. Getting you in the morning is my favorite. Your little sleep face gets so excited. You are so animated and full of expressions – I can’t believe how fast you’re growing. Even on the hardest days, I count my lucky stars. You my boy, are everything and more.

Palmer – 18 Months

HALF WAY TO TWO!

I’m so behind on this post, but I couldn’t miss it. 18 months of P has a been a whirlwind and this past month has been no exception.

He’s a wrecking ball of cute and wild energy and I continuously just want to eat him up.

Tries to repeat just about everything
Big into hugs – he’s super affectionate.
Laughs after every burp
Loves rice, cous cous, broccoli, pouches, yogurt and beef
Wants to do everything brother does – video games, coloring and riding bikes!
Has a thing for removing his pants and diaper
An amazing little sleeper and big time swimmer
Sporting the blondest covid mullet
BIG fan of trash cans… still.
Not really a beach kid. Like really?! Gonna be a mountain boy someday, I bet.
PAPA is still LIFE
Wants to read a million books before bed
Says things like “aw, cute!” “okay, yeah!” “thank youuuu.” “WOW!” and “COOL!”
Requests Happy, Moana and Frozen songs on repeat
Life of his own little party
He constantly has little beads of sweat on his nose
OFF the charts TALL
Loves to be chased
Will hide and yell “boo”
Knows the color blue

Palmer James,
As much as I hate seeing you grow up, I love seeing you develop. You’re a strong willed, determined and happy little guy and I love you with my whole heart. You bring our family so much joy and laughter and I some mornings when I walk into your bedroom and you say “mamaaa!” in that sweet high pitched voice, I feel like the luckiest person in the world. Thank you my sweet P for being YOU. For choosing me. You’re gonna move mountains, kid.

Palmer – 17 Months

My littlest is looking SO big – soon he’ll be half way to TWO and I can’t believe it.

Constantly on the hunt for a controller so he can play video games with big brother.
Requests “Happy” by Pharrel Williams on repeat and loves to dance
Wants to watch videos of Papa
Still into Simple Songs on YouTube and Sesame Street
New found love for muffins
All of sudden we’re just “MOM” and “DAD” !? Um, how do I fix this?
Can say “Hudson” clear as day
Obsessed with finding trash cans
Currently in swim lessons and hates them but LOVES swimming and floating when his instructor isn’t there – total water baby
Getting more into coloring and less into eating markers
Wants to give Roxie a “treee” aka treat a couple times a day
Likes our wagon rides to the lake and seeing all the ducks
Can name all the ingredients when we’re doing taco night! Kid will eat the beef, onion, tomato and cheese by the fistfuls.
Knows how to open up the island drawers now – so that’s fun.
Still taking 2 naps a day and sleeps from 8:30pm to 8am #score
Has the blondest little mullet forming #coronahair
On his last paci
King of getting into things he shouldn’t, hiding in dark places and being absolutely still and quiet
All about hide and seek, pulling out snacks in the pantry and giving Roxie loves
PAPA IS LIFE
A whole horrible facetimer
Will stick his feet in the air and yell “STINKY” – indeed, kiddo.
Ask him anything, odds are he’ll just say “No.”

Palmer,
My little love – you make me smile. I’m obsessed with everything about you. Even the naughty tendencies – which, says something. I love your love. Your sweet voice, your crazy deep giggle/cackle thing and I love your quirky mannerisms. I’m so proud of how fearless you are – from swimming to activities to eating you do everything full tilt. The sound of your fast little feet tapping the ground as your scatter throughout the house brings me so much joy. MAMA loves you, bubs.

Another month down in a ::BLINK:: of an eye. I swear he’s taller, faster, and a much better talker in a mere 30 days. He is a wild child and I love his fierce and fearless personality so much. His chin dimple, round cheeks and blue eyes help, too. #swoon

Wants to read a whole library before bed. “Blue Hat, Green Hat” has been a recent favorite and Hudson will read it to him at bedtime.
Favorite foods include fruit snacks, veggie straws, CORN, yogurt, cheese and avocado. All of those things he’ll ask for by name.
Any piece of dirt or debris is suddenly a BUG. He get’s all pumped up when he “finds” a bug.
Likes breaking things so he can try to put them back together. His fine motor skills are pretty impressive.
Rides his little puppy bike with confidence and will even lift his little feet up to coast.
Constantly into cabinets, trash, dog bowls, toilets, monitors and plugs and of course toilet paper.
Has a new found joy in tossing toys down the stairs.
Everything time he falls down is okay, he says “Kkkk!”
Without fail he’ll tell you he loves you when you go to leave.
Has a fascination with shoes and can easily pull out a pair.
Favorite song is “Happy” by Pharrel Williams – loves to dance.
Big into Simple Songs on Youtube and Sesame Street.
Would prefer anyone else’s water but his own.
A total blankie kid (just like big bro!)
Obsessive about toothpaste.
Some of his vocabulary has a weird French accent
A little lover – gives the best hugs and cuddles.
He’s got a deep voice thing going and his current impulsive saying is “ohhhhh yeahhh!”
Likes to lather himself up with soap in the bath.
Taking swim lessons and hating every second.
Pretty sure by next week he’ll have all his tiny baby teeth in!

Ugh, I love you so much. I can’t help but want to hold and kiss you every chance I get. You, my sweet boy, make my heart burst. Your love is so powerful and bright and brings us all so much joy and happiness. Your determination to do just about anything you want is endearing but also tiring but you’re motivated to do what your brother does and I know you don’t want to miss a thing. We don’t want to miss a thing. Soon you’ll be halfway to two and your developing personality will continue to shine! To say I’m proud to be your mother would be an understatement. Some days I can’t believe your mine. I love you something serious, kiddo.

Palmer – 11 Months

His last month before the big ONE!

He has the best salute/wave – he puts his little hand in the air every time he sees someone.
On a mission to get anywhere he shouldn’t – fireplace, TV console, bath tub and playroom stairs
Fascinated with opening and closing doors
Everything goes in his mouth – 7 teeth and counting…
Big into balls, balloons and books
Current snack favorite are veggie straws and shredded cheese!
Pulls up on anything and everything
Signs “more” and “all done.”
Will share his food with you if you ask
Has the best belly laugh – tickle spots include his neck, under his arms and his thighs
If you ask him “is that funny?” he’ll do a fake laugh
Loves rough housing with his brother
Can hold his bottle but doesn’t prefer to
Has the bluest eyes and longest lashes and I just stare at him
Doesn’t get much stranger danger
Takes two naps a day and sleeps through the night now like a total champ
Big fan of ELMO, not a fan of being told “no.”

Palmer James,
You have my heart sweet boy. You’re growing up quick and you look so much bigger than you actually are. I’m cherishing every moment with you – breathing you in, smothering you in kisses, and holding you as much as I can. Currently in the midst of planning your first birthday and I can’t believe you. It’s been a wild, fun and incredible 11 months with you, P. Thank you for adding more love to my life than I ever thought was possible

Palmer – 10 Months

My bubs is in the TWO digits! He’s seriously the sweetest, happiest little babe and I can’t believe most days he’s mine.

Pulls up on just about anything
Literally WALKING with anything that he can push – on. his. own.
Reaches out with a little open hand to show he wants you or something just out of his reach
Still rocking his SIX teeth, but we think two more are about to come any day now
If you quiz him on what a cow, monkey, fish, cat, puppy says odds are he’ll get it right.
Will only sign “all done” still working on the others
Big on OPEN mouth kisses and if you’re not he’ll grab your face anyway
Can give you a high five
If you ask him if that’s funny he’ll give you a fake laugh
Loves to play with things that make noise, his brother’s toys, remotes, phones and balls
Roxie’s biggest fan
Still sleeping through the night and can finally self soothe
LOVES broccoli
Shakes his head no (and typically does it when he knows he’s doing something we don’t want him to do)
Likes the muppet song
Can drink from a straw – likes my metal straws because of how cold they get
He does this cute thing lately where if you’re holding him he’ll turn in front of you to see your face if you’re not looking at him. GAH.
Will have the occasional tantrum, fit and meltdown. #babies
Can hold his bottle by himself but is typically too lazy, so we do it.
Crawls pretty quick, but if he hears the bathtub I swear the kid moves like a rocket.
Note – NOT a fan of Santa.

I love you so much it hurts. I loveeee seeing your scrunched up smiley face every morning. When you reach for us it’s the greatest feeling in the world. You’re a fun, loving, bright little dude. You make us laugh, you keep us on our toes (you’re into everything) but most of all you add this beautiful dynamic that I only dreamed of. I continue to see a lot of me in you and it’s surreal to see. You and your brother LIGHT up my life and Christmas this year is proof of that. You both make everything brighter.

Palmer – 5 Months

Our sweet Palmer is 5 months and it seems like time is just flying by. He’s developing the sweetest personality and all of us can’t get enough of him.

Well, maybe at 3am … I kid.

He is getting SO big – let me explain…

He has TWO teeth and still a drooly face
The sweetest BLUE eyes
Eats big kid foods! Favorites are bananas and sweet potatoes
Enjoys nibbling on his toes
Favorite toys include: singing peacock and jelly cat books
LOVES his jolly jumper
Rolls over the second you lay him down
Can pull him into a seated position but needs some assistance when he gets there
Over 17 lbs and 27 inches – similar to Hudson at this age
Big fan of cell phones and apple watches – also loves to FaceTime
Rubs his head/hair when he’s drinking a bottle
When I rock him he likes to reach up and play with my mouth
Has perfected blowing raspberries
Fascinated by his pup
Can take out and put in his pacifier all by himself
Actually, puts everything in his mouth.
Tries to hold his own bottle
Does really well in the car still – win!
Still doesn’t sleep through the night, but some nights we’re lucky.
Wearing 6-9 month outfits and size 3 diapers
Obsessed with his daddy and I’m okay with it 🙂
Tough kiddo – getting constantly scared by hi older brother and does well with the nose frida!

Goodness how I love youuuuu. You have the sweetest face I’ve ever seen. You literally light up and give us the biggest open mouth smile every time we look at you. You giggle a bunch but you have this little grunt that is so cute and you have this honk thing that let’s us know when you’re not really happy. You rarely lose your mind and love car rides. You bring so much JOY and excitment and I’m in awe of your ability to bring another level of love I never knew existed. You and your brother are my entire world and I love watching you both grow up together. Mama loves you more than you will ever know, sweet boy.
