How To-Set Up the Perfect Intimate Thanksgiving Gathering

With the CDC coming out again and encouraging outdoor holiday gatherings, I’m thinking about how I can take last year’s table scape and make it that much better…

Last year, I talked about 5 tips for making it comfortable for everyone and truthfully a less stressful holiday even with all the external stressors we’re all enduring on a day to day basis is so important.

As a family, we love Thanksgiving so much – the whole feeling of it and will do just about anything to keep family close, our bellies full and our heart’s warm. I cherish watching the parade in our jammies and smelling the seeping aroma from the kitchen.

The original decor was for the most part pretty minimal and included the following:

  • Holiday garland for the center piece
  • Gold and ceramic tapered candle holders
  • Small gold picture frames with family memories
  • Mini votives as favors
  • Gathre table cloth

This year I hope to incorporate more dried florals, maybe even forage for olive branches and maybe have Nick buy extra rosemary to layer in. More candles wouldn’t hurt either to play off the outdoor glass lanterns and fountain. Something romantic and simple about candle light.

Here are some other ideas for favors:

  • Mini picture frames or photos
  • Recipe cards with a new recipe used
  • Ornaments
  • Cookies or sweets to-go!
