when we saw the original plans for this house Nick loved the idea of having a garage apt but using it as a home office space. It’s such a versatile set up since it’s detached from our home and perfectly perched up above our garage set within the trees.
When we moved in Nick just had his table in the center of room, cords everywhere (mind you the pandemic hit in March/April and we moved in early February) so we weren’t exactly set up how we wanted it.
With COVID, like many others, I set up shop in our home office and we both squeezed onto his large wood desk and made it work. Literally.
With my new business though, we needed to really make the space work for both of us. We ordered new desks and chairs from Herman Miller, asked Loloi for their Wynter Rug (I’m obsessed with it!) and then the decor settled in from there.
Our new joint office is dreamy, functional and in some cases inspiring. We have a very handy kitchenette that we use daily, a beverage cooler for all things coffee and water and a bathroom with natural light and on most days a lit candle. As the weather has been nicer we’ve had the doors and windows open, fall playlists streaming through our Sonos speaker and an overwhelming sense of gratitude. I like my cute office buddy.
