Happy soon-to-be summer! My name is Jomy and I have a beauty and style blog called “Love Jomy.” I have always been beauty obsessed, so today I’m bringing you a lovely dose of skincare and glow that will have you thriving all summer long!
I want to start off by saying that the number one thing you should focus on is skincare. It took me a few years to realize that in order to have a flawless and luminous makeup application, you MUST focus on skincare. So today I’ll be talking about my current favorite skincare and makeup products that will keep me glowing all summer long.
The first Product: Purlisse Blue Lotus Seed Mud Mask + Exfoliant
I’ve been using this mask for over two months and I absolutely love the way my face feels in the morning. This mask gently resurfaces, detoxifies, brightens, tightens and smoothes your skin. This is the first step in clearing out your skin and allows it to soak up the following products so that they can really do what they gotta do.
Next up is my go-to skincare trio: No7 Lift and Luminate Triple Action Serum, iT Cosmetics Confidence in a Cream and the Goop Perfecting Eye Cream
I first apply the No7 serum as an added step in moisturizing followed by the Confidence in a Cream. These two products have brightened my skin and have definitely controlled how much oil my skin produces throughout the day. I feel like I’ve balanced my skin out. I follow up with the Goop eye cream and I literally feel like a glazed donut with all the hydration I have going on.
The next step is probably the most important step: Glossier Invisible Shield Daily Sunscreen
I used to never wear sunscreen every day because I hated the smell, stickiness and the fact that all the ones I’ve tried break me out. I recently purchased the Glossier Invisible Shield Daily Sunscreen (SPF 35) and boy has this changed the game! It’s a gel/serum formula that your skin instantly soaks up leaving no white tint or residue. It’s a literal dream! It doesn’t feel like I’m wearing sunscreen and it has a lovely and light citrus scent. So I definitely recommend incorporating it into your summer (and all year round) routine.
Now it’s time for the bronze and glow!
To achieve the best and most natural bronzed look I have been obsessed with the Laura Geller Baked Color & Contour in Sunset Glow. This compact comes with a bronzer, blush and highlight. After applying my base (foundation and/or concealer) I love applying the Bronzer to the hollows of my cheeks, temples and under my jawline. The satin finish gives you the most beautiful bronzed glow and makes you look sun-kissed. I then apply the Liquid Gelato Pillow Top Illuminator in Gilded Honey for a dewy highlight and follow up with the Baked Gelato Swirl Illuminator in Gilded Honey as well for some added luminosity.
