So we’re currently going on a family vacation to Asheville, NC!
Nick has been wanting to take me there well before Hudson was born.
We almost made it one year in October, since we would typically travel to Denver to do beer tours, but it didn’t pan out.
Nick found a sweet little wood cabin in the Blue Ridge Mountains via Air BnB and we’re so pumped about it.
Nick has been working sooo hard lately and the heat here is constant – so the thought of a mountain getaway was too enticing.

Time for some nature, c o o l fresh air, the sound of a creek, views of vistas and well yes, some great beer 🙂 We’re totally that family.
Big thing to note, we’re flying to Atlanta to meet our “neighbors” and then drive the rest of the way together.
We thought for sure Hudson’s first flight would have been to Park City, but nope! It’s a short little jaunt to Atlanta and then a scenic drive up to NC. An 8 hour drive turned into 3 – so we’re okay with that 🙂 And we get to test this whole “flying with kids” thing.
Here’s how I plan to tackle the flight:
- N E W toys (especially teethers, books and a new stuffed animal)
- Food – have some milk, water and pouches handy.
- Pacifiers – big soother
- Charged phone. He loves selfies
- A thing of Honest Co. anti-bacterial spray (gotta)
As what to pack for the big stuff:
- Car seat
- Stroller base | converters
- Solly baby wrap
- Sound machine and audio monitor
