NINE years with you

or 78,894 hours and counting and I wouldn’t change a thing.

Well, maybe to have married you sooner.

Our life is as crazy as ever and I’m still crazy as ever for you… for this family we’ve created, for this home we’ve built and literally for everything in-between. Marriage isn’t hard or maybe it’s just that being married to you is easy. My life could have been very different, our start was far from predictable, but I knew it was you.

Going back to the Wythe this month brought back all the feels. It took me back to that moment on that brisk Brooklyn balcony when I made the best decision of my life. That forever and ever I choose you.

Thank you for everything you do for me and our boys every. single. day.

You have my heart. Happy 9 my love!

happiest holidays

from our crazy crew to yours.

may the season and new year bring you comfort and light.

Wells is One

What was probably the fastest year, or so it seems, and now our littlest baby is one.

Time is a thief.

Everything about him is pure joy and everything about him I feel advanced so quickly. From watching his brothers and to keeping up with the endless plans, activities, he’s been our on-the-go baby and he does it with a smile.

He’s a little babe that is just happy to be here and gosh, I couldn’t imagine a world without him. He has a sweetness about him, a smartness even that wins over every person he meets. I watch him in awe as he navigates a crazy house, how he tries to communicate, how he can down a pouch in an instant and how fast he can dash around on his two little feet. His loves are undeniable and my heart swells with every tight squeeze and pat on the back.

Kiddo has a way with just about all of us. The way he points and says “dada” to Nick is a heart melter. Most would say he looks more like Hudson but I still think he’s a bit of a mix. He’s more outgoing than Hudson as this age but not as rambunctious as P.

He is everything and more and I count my lucky stars that he’s ours and we are here celebrating his first birthday with all our family and close friends.

Wellsey

You will always be my baby. You will always remind me how lucky we are that we got three healthy and happy boys. Everything about you is a dream come true and know that even before you were born you were loved beyond measure. This is a super special month bubs and I’m so grateful that I get to share it with you. You and your brothers bring me so much JOY and remind me all the time what life is all about.

Even though you get an obscene amount of hand me downs, it’s purely for my enjoyment as I can recall Hudson and Palmer wearing the exact same thing and I cherish those memories as we create our own. You are a bright light little Wellsey and you have my heart sweet boy. Happiest of birthdays my little love.

love always,

Mama

A Sézane Birthday in the City

jamie gernert, work your closet, sezane new york trip

a whirlwind trip to meet my husband in one of our favorite cities during our anniversary month ON MY BIRTHDAY was a hard yes. sure it took a village to help us escape for a mere 36 hours, but it was so worth it.

we kicked off the trip with the last dinner reservation at Gramercy Tavern with burgers and a pumpkin dessert. the festive decor was lovely and the view of the kitchen is such a sight.

we woke up on my 38th birthday and immediately went to our favorite breakfast spot Grey Dog. I devoured blueberry pancakes and then we made our way to do a little shopping for Nick for the event we had that night. we even got a little christmas shopping in. two things I really wanted to do that day was to get my hair done at drybar and get lunch at la mercier. we ended up snagging the last lunch reservation inside and I relished in the decor and interior details. we had a lovely glass of wine and ate profiteroles that were absolutely delish!

we made our way to the wythe hotel in brooklyn (where we got married almost 9 years ago!) and checked in to our lovely 701 loft suite. with flowers and a welcome drink – the hotel, staff and manager never disappoints! we love love love coming back to this hotel.

around 6 or so we got dressed up for the Time’s Person of the Year party at the Plaza and off we went. we mingled a little, drank a little and people watched a lot. we had an exceptional date night that lead us to a late dinner reservation at al corro and their 5 course pre-fixe meal. fancy meals with nick takes me back to our beginning – before kids – before we both ran crazy businesses and it was nice to go back to do a day of dating. to a day of self care and a little birthday faire.

thank you to sézane for the outfits and for helping me feel extra special in the city.
