Father’s Day Gift Ideas

For me – whether it’s for my dad or for Nick anything music related is usually a big win. Kids will always make something cute and I love doing the mad-libs for them too, but if you want something a little thoughtful and plays to their music obsession here are a few good ideas:

  1. Vinyl Me Please – hands down the best gift I’ve given Nick and it’s been easily 4 or 5 years now. He gets a new vinyl every month in the mail that will round out the perfect vinyl collection
  2. Vinylify – a cool source to put your own music on vinyl. We did this for my dad and put some of his own recordings and the song we wrote for him on his own personal vinyl.
  3. Bowers & Wilkins – from speakers to amps to headphones. This brand is coveted around our house.
  4. Turntable – Shinola doesn’t make this one anymore, which is a bummer but this was an anniversary gift that really keeps on giving. It’s a piece of art in our living room and gets a ton of love.
  5. Retroviewer (not music related) but it’s a super cool way to gift photo memories. We do a new reel for every father’s day and love this collection we’ve started.

Al Fresco Dining with #ShoppeLiving

May’s ambassador gift from Shoppe Amber Interiors was all about al fresco dining and taking advantage of the longer days. Right now is a perfect time before our Florida summer routine of late afternoon showers begin to fill our daily forecast. I went ahead and turned our courtyard into a little romantic spot for two (granted we went out for date night) it was still fun to play and style and let some creative juices flow for a minute.

They currently have a Memorial Day Sale going on and I would encourage you to take advantage of it and at least scoop up this vintage table cloth, pedestal bowl and lovely candle stick holders.

A little Staycation at Four Seasons Orlando

thanks to Four Seasons Orlando for hosting our stay.

It was so nice for the folks at Four Seasons to let us kick off summer with a little staycation to their Walt Disney World property. We’ve stayed there before, back when Hudson was our only kiddo and now we have three so it has been a minute.

We took full advantage and loved every bit of it. We stayed in the Park Suite which gave us room to spread out – with two rooms and two bathrooms – it was perfect for a family of 5. Of course the second we checked in we made our way to our room to change so we could directly to the pool to play and eat dinner.

Saturday morning we ate breakfast with Goofy and his Friends and the boys had a blast. No real tears and they loved the entertainment. The photos we got were truthfully priceless.

We rented a cabana for a full day pool side – made the most sense for us to have a nice shaded area for the kids and dedicated service. The bigs and Nick went on the waterslides at least 20 times and brought Wells and I along for some lazy river rides. The kid amentities always surprise me – with kid camps, sports activities, playground and amazing pools (yes they have a few) it was endless entertainment.

We ended the night at Capa which is such a beautiful restaurant but was expedited because of three very tired kids. I had to skip out early with Wells but the boys brought me some churros to the room for dessert and it was a sweet little treat.

Needless to say the boys are already asking when we can go back. With Florida resident special rates and a 4th night free summer promotion, we might sneak another one in before school in August.
