Coastal Design and Decor for Any Season

After staying at beach house for a week, I was envisioning how I would design a coastal home. Sure elements of shiplap and beams, but what about touches of pattern, soft pale colors and maybe even natural elements like sea shells themselves?

Here are a few of my favorite coastal designed rooms that to me will surely stand the test of time and will radiate a sunny disposition no matter the season.

Here are some coastal inspired decor ideas to add to your home – if you’ve got a east or west coast vibe going on.

Boca Grande 2021

with missing Boca Grande in 2020, I think it’s safe to say we made up for it this year. The sweetest island town did our hearts good. I soaked up every giggle, every splash and every boat nap. It was the best week with some of the greatest people and this mama is tired but utterly happy.

Thanks BG for the continued memories… til next year!

Dad Appreciation Post

a compilation of some of my favorite snaps of the two greatest and most present dads in the whole entire world.

Everyone in our family is so lucky to have you both. Man, jackpot.

Now let’s go celebrate in paradise.

Craft Cocktails for Father’s Day

This post is sponsored by Farmhouse Pottery but the words and opinions are all my own.

I mean, it’s a tale as old as time – their love language is typically food and drinks, am I right? So why not just give them what they want?!

Within the last year, date nights were far and in-between and Nick started stocking a more delicious and accessible home bar. He was whipping up late night Old Fashions or weekend Margaritas with his own simple syrup and fresh squeezed lime juice. So as Father’s Day is fast approaching the idea of gifting him the Farmhouse Pottery Craft Cocktail kit was a no brainer. Granted, we’re squeezing in a date night, maybe once a month now, but we’re still at home a bunch and Florida is getting into full on Summer mode. Lot’s of pool days in our future and nothing goes better with pool time than homemade margaritas – especially when you have two crazy boys living it up in the pool.

Plus, the cocktail kit is beautiful – perfect to display in/around your home bar or pantry and odds are the kit serves more than the the desired audience. Win win!

If a nice drink and a bit of relaxing is all that dad wants this year – heck, I’d give it to him ten fold. With how hard Nick works and all the things he does around here for us (practically every.single.meal) I’d make him how ever many rounds.

Sooooo maybe cocktails aren’t his thing? That’s okay – what about coffee or baking!? Farmhouse is great resource for all things gifts and heirloom style pottery.

5 Things

a few things I saw and loved lately.

1 // Custom Book Covers

I mean it’s brilliant. Half the time I take the covers off and let the linen book speak for itself, but for books you want to use for decor and it doesn’t jive with your color palette I’ve always just turned the spines around… but voila! You don’t have to anymore. Get custom book covers made in the colors/sizes of your choosing and make your shelfs shine!

2 // Glossier Body Bar

I’ve been using this bar for 2-3 weeks now and I love it. I’m not a huge exfoliator but I love how it gently exfoliates, and softens my skin and it smells amazing. It’s a glorious beauty body bar and I’ll definitely order more once this one is gone. Summer skin here I come! Plus, it’s vegan and cruelty free. ++

3 // The New Currency

A quote I’ve saved in Instagram a dozen times. Let these words sink in a for a second.

4 // Dome Crush

Besides my huge crush on our own kitchen dome, I’m also loving this large dome moment – love how it’s white and goes so well with the bright space and warm kitchen island. image: @laurejoliet

5 // RAILS

Just received the Rails summer catalog and loved their photography, mood boards and overall color palette. I’ve seen bloggers wear Rails, but I’ve yet to purchase anything of theirs. Eyeing a few styles:
