Que the unofficial but official start of SUMMER and all the amazing retail deals. I’ve been making notes on a few brands that having amazing sales that I honestly don’t want to miss. From fashion to home here are some things that I hope to ADD TO CART.

Farmhouse Pottery

They very rarely have sales – usually (2) a year so if you’re like me and love heirloom pottery pieces for decor and kitchen then you need to check out their Second’s Sale. Basically goods with minor imperfections that quite honestly, we probably wouldn’t notice but they do, and are selling just about everything an amazing discount. I have everything from their silo bowls, mugs, vases, crocks wooden bowls and pitchers! Classic handmade pieces that will last a lifetime and will look good in any home. Back in 2018, Hudson and I met Nick in Vermont and we stayed next to Farmhouse Pottery and I was literally in awe of their sweet shop and the quality of goods their produce.

Favorite Affordable Art Pieces

I’ve been sourcing art for clients lately and I’ve been stumbling upon some really beautiful pieces that I thought I would share.

Art can totally transform the space – whether you hang a piece on the wall or lean it against the wall. Layering art is also a beautiful way to add dimension, color and even personality!

5 Things

Some things I saved and thought about lately…

1 // #WORKYOURHOME

Yep, it’s a thing. Kinda my thing – but I want to see how YOU #workyourhome. I’d love to share my favorites and create an environment for folks to share home decor tips, tricks, hacks and just moments in time. Use this hashtag when you share all things home.

2 // Vignettes

Creating more of these little moments at home and for clients are really important to me. It’s a way to make a simple moment shine in midst of chaos, mess and real life. Not everything has to be perfect but little scenes like this one from Amber Interiors evokes happiness.

3 // Summer MOOD

a lovely palette and a lovely capture. so many new pins to my travel and seasons board.

4 // Summer Style

Jules can do no wrong and I’m in constant awe how she still (after all of these years) produces such stunning content. This whole look and vibe of her photos is so perfect. Let me live in this look all summer.

5 // Schumacher’s New Sister Brand – Backdrop

A cool new paint option since we don’t have enough πŸ™‚ But their new collection with Dunkin’ is making me happy and hungry!

All About Our Home Paint Colors

I get asked all the time about the paint colors we used, so I thought I would do a more detailed post on the three colors we used throughout our home. With the exception of the boys’ rooms where we added a little bit of Clare.

EXTERIOR – BM Gray Owl

For the exterior, I knew I didn’t want another “white house.” I actually picked our window color first, because I also knew I didn’t want white or black – I wanted to do something different but also something neutral. I came across this slate window color and never looked back. White would be too stark against the gray windows so I stumbled upon a home Alyssa Rosenheck shot and I fell in love with the neutral light gray. Either I found out it was Gray Owl or I pretended it was – either way, BM Gray Owl was the winner. We painted body, trim and shutters all the same color. Our T&G at our porch, lanai and breezeway were color matched the window slate color for a nice contrast.

INTERIOR – BM Swiss Coffee

The whole mood of our home is light, airy and warm and stark white wasn’t going to work. We have a TON of natural light which gave us the flexibility to explore more warmer whites. Shea and Syd at Studio McGee did Swiss Coffee at their house, so I put it on my short list. Like them, I did have to play with the strength of the paint – we did 50% on the walls and 75% on the shiplap. Our cabinets are a stock white from Mid Continent Cabinetry, so I wanted to make sure the color of the cabinet was warm and still in a similar tone with the wall color. They couldn’t be more of a perfect fit if you ask me! I prefer a flat finish on walls and wall details like shiplap or paneling and then semi-gloss for all things trim (base boards, crown, door casings etc.) We’re also big coffee drinkers, so I liked the name. #classic

ACCENTS – BM French Beret

To add some dimension and elevate some everyday areas, I wanted a paint color that was a bit moody. Since we had warm whites, and light grays in the mix a super dark blue stuck out to me. I love how the consistent use of unlacquered brass hardware really stood out on the cabinets and turned a not so exciting media/toy storage cabinet in a total focal point. To give it some purpose, we also painted our custom mudroom cabinet/locker/desk area the same color so in one sight line it all kinda goes.

1 // Chasing Paper Peel & Stick Tiles

Y’all saw Chris Loves Julia do it in their daughter’s bath and it wasn’t a super successful story, BUT Chasing Paper has been doing the adhesive game for awhile now and I love that they came out with these beautiful and vibrant tile stickers. Such a fun and temporary way to create personality.

2 // Dreamy Kitchen Storage

All the warmth and all the practical storage. I love the fluted/vertical details. The wine cubbies. The antique glass detail. It’s current but still classic in the most perfect ways.

3 // Summer Staples

Cutie cute cute little look that I’ll just copy a variety of ways until all my dresses are dirty. Here are some dresses I’m loving lately!

4 // ASK

What a powerful thought. Don’t be afraid to ask and don’t be afraid to get what you want. You’ll NEVER know if you don’t try.

5 // Sweet No Bake Treat

Emily made my stop my scroll. What a YUMMY looking dessert that I want to make with the boys. Gimme all the fruit and non complicated baking treats.
