Lucky No. 7

They say year 7 is the hardest…

It just so happened to line up with the infamous year that is 2020. Well, I think we did alright. Actually, I think we did better than alright.

We continue to build a life that on some days is hard for me to even comprehend (it’s straight up fairytale-like) – we’ve had this year to be home, to be together and to be present and for that I am so utterly grateful.

I know I say it every year, but thank you for choosing me. For choosing this special day. For being the best dad to our two boys who worship the ground you walk on.

You, my love, have my heart today and always.

ps. wishing both of our parents a lovely anniversary, too! kind of them to share. 😉

Merry Merry

not sure how it happened, but pretty sure I blinked and it’s Christmas. This year in-particular is so special – first Christmas morning in the new house and I have a feeling we’re going to have two very stoked little boys.

you better believe I’ll be soaking up all the laughter, the mess and luke-warm coffee with the happiest and warmest heart.

wishing you and yours a peaceful and healthy holiday.

Palmer – 22 Months

in typical second kid, 2020 fashion I somehow missed his 21 months post. Whoops! So this will be a little hybrid.

To the kid that keeps us all on our toes and puts me to level of exhaustion I never knew I had – he has the warmest heart which makes it all worth it.

  • Still obsessed with the Peanut Butter & Jelly song – I sing it to him before bed every night
  • Wants to watch Papa videos (papa is life cont.)
  • Likes to “help” by getting his high chair out to sit in, gives his puppy cookies, puts things in the trash
  • Helps himself into his refrigerator snack drawer and freezer
  • Not a fan of Siri and our new home automation
  • Kid loves to color
  • Can count to 11
  • Requests “holidaayyy” by NSYNC #myboy
  • Likes to keep his helmet and shoes on in-doors
  • Will go for miles on his balance bike
  • Loves to eat: fruit snacks, yogurt, bananas, french fries, ice cream. cous cous, and veggie straws (just not the green ones)
  • Pretend plays video games with brother
  • Has to accompany whomever when they go to the bathroom
  • Wants to read Curious George Christmas and Good Night Hawaii every night before bed
  • Such a good sleeper – down by 8:30pm and up at 7:30am
  • The blondest babe I’ve ever seen
  • Really starting to string words together and being quite the conversationalist
  • “Mamaaaa WHOOOK!” “Come here!” “Whoook at me, mama!”
  • Will kiss your “boo boo”
  • Wears 2-3T and size 5 diapers – kid is pretty much a tall moose
  • Likes to love on his puppy

Bubs,

Mama loves you so much. I’m so excited to see your sweet little reaction this Christmas and to help you open all your gifts. You bring so much joy and chaos to every situation but I have a feeling you’re going to make it that much more magical, too. Your wild and loving spirit is so prevalent and I soak it all up. To say I’m obsessed with you would be an understatement. I watch you in awe kiddo and I’m appreciating every milestone and watching you develop and grow to keep up with your older brother. I’m already planning your 2nd birthday and I have a feeling you’ll be singing yourself Happy Birthday along with all of us. You’re my moon and all my stars, sweet boy.

Weekend Wants

OH MMMM GEEE – 1 week til Christmas.

Two Ways to Style the Jenni Kayne Sheepskin

I was totally skeptical. Being part of their Jenni Kayne Home program, I am gifted a few things throughout the year and well, her arctic sheepskin was in the latest gift box. I’m not really a fur person and I don’t think our house has that sort of vibe (not that I’m against it – but let me finish!) I immediately was like “what do I do with this!?”

Well, turns out this cozy, crazy soft sheepskin is actually quite versatile. So if you think you might want one, but not sure what to do with it, let me show you a few ways…

There is the obvious on the floor next to the tub or shower or maybe even fireplace. But I saw Anatasia put it on her couch and I loved the thought.

So here it is draped perfectly over our long chaise on the couch and I love how it looks. Truth be told though, we have two really crazy kids that jump and bounce and on ocassion will have a sticky fruit snack stuck to their face so leaving it here was kind of not an option.

I then picked it up and draped it over my office chair at my floating desk and what was already a pretty soft office chair, turned into this luxurious and elevated moment! The boys don’t play over here much, so it’s a safe bet to keep on the chair and I just love how polished it looks.

I should have known that Jenni Kayne wouldn’t make or sell anything less than perfect and homey.

Weekend Wants

a mix of cozy, green and brass. Plus a cute box for tissues and a mug for tea.

Layered in Jenni Kayne

Winter in Florida means slip dresses and sweaters all day long.

I still can’t believe I’m a #jennikaynepartner at times. I’ve idolized and admired the brand from afar, yet here I am.

Collaborations and silly little wishes are attainable. Feeling your best is achievable. These Jenni Kayne pieces (slip dress & cocoon cardigan) make me feel elevated and put together even if I’m just dressing up to stay at home.

If you’re thinking of shopping anything at Jenni Kayne this holiday – use code JAMIE20 for 20% off your entire purchase.

I’ve been eyeing their sherling mocks and fun sherling slides.
