Our Pottery Barn Living Room Make Over

this post is sponsored by Pottery Barn but the words and opinions are my own.

We moved into our new home in February and brought just about everything with us. Like I encourage clients, I wanted to live in the space, get a feel for what works and doesn’t work and then re-evaluate what our furnishings and furniture needs are.

So with all of that being said – our old living room furniture just didn’t fit. It was a lovely Pottery Barn couch and ottoman but it did not go with the flow of this home. There wasn’t an easy way to walk into the living and sit down.

Thankfully our friends at Pottery Barn came to the rescue and worked with us on a new living room layout.

Here is the BEFORE:

We opted for their Pottery Barn Comfort Square Arm Bumper Sectional, so we could still have a spot to lay and get comfy for movie nights, but still have plenty of seating. We went with their performance tweed ecru and it’s a perfect off white (like most of our house) and really brightens the space up. I haven’t had any issues with the fabric, but I am a little more sensitive to how the boys use the couch – we have a new no food rule! Other than that everything is super kid friendly… the two leather chairs are perfect for the kids and make for flexible seating. The light oak coffee table is just the right size for us to walk around and provides additional kid storage – win!

And then the dark side table just breaks it all up. I love the simple shape and the ability to add a basket or stack books in it to give it a lived in feel.

Overall, we couldn’t be happier with how it all turned out. It is functional, practical and perfect for all our family living room hangs. Our last Pottery Barn set was almost 8 years old and was holding up just fine so I can’t wait to enjoy these pieces for many years to come.

If you have any questions on these pieces or would like some recommendations leave me a comment or send me a DM on instagram! Happy to help!

A Fall Inspired Home Tour

this lovely design done by Amber Interiors / photos by Tessa Neustadt

These two are quite literally the perfect pair. This home has character, warmth and detail unlike any other. I love the appreciation for materials, textiles, colors and say even dark wood! Tess captures every corner and space beautifully.

His 39th Year

Some days I look over in awe…

He came into my life in an unexpected, whirlwind, all encompassing kind of way. I was captivated in ways I had never been before. I was envisioning a life that was really unknown and not on the path I had originally planned. This time, every year, I do get a little sentimental. Not just because it’s this amazing man’s birthday, but also because it’s when a lot of things changed for us… now ten whole years ago.

Two kids and a new beautiful home later – we continue to be each-other’s advocate. I couldn’t ask for better partner to do life with. The boys and I love you something serious. You float our boats, fill our ice cream bowls and make me well, the happiest wife on the planet.

I’ll gladly take any excuse to celebrate the man who stole my heart and continues to uphold every promise, vow and daydream. Happiest of my birthday’s my love.

Start the JOY early

sponsored by Artifact Uprising but the words/opinions are my own.

One of my favorite holiday traditions – the one time a year when we get our family photos taken and we can get to toss a sweet little note in the mail to all our favorite people in the world. With everything else going on in the world right now, I didn’t want to take this too seriously – I also have two cute little helpers that want to help. Lucky me! One who can write his name like a big kid and the other who will gladly take any opportunity to “color.” I love how simple and organic the Artifact Uprising holiday cards are. They will also address your envelopes!

Artifact Uprising is such a great place to shop for holiday cards, new year cards (hello, 2021 – we need you!) and even beautifully curated photo gifts.

More than ever, we need to print the photos that mean the most and put them up or mail them out.

To the friends and family we miss so much – how about a desk calendar (update the work from home desk situation!) or a photo book of milestones of littles grandparent’s might have missed or even a simple everyday print set that be used just about anywhere.

Take a second and start the joy early. Think ahead, gift thoughtfully.

AmberxAnthro At Home

Y’all know I love me some Amber. When she teased a new project, I had a feeling it would be this! Her collection with Anthro was so timely and done so well. There were certainly things I didn’t need like furniture or bedding, but I did get a lot of the serveware and the large cozy throw blanket.

I’m still eyeing the basket tray and some throw pillows. Her attention to detail and playful use of neutral colors and textures is just beyond. Grateful for her constant support of my kitchen design so I thought I’d shoot some of her new items front and island center.

Enjoy!
