Palmer – 5 Months

Our sweet Palmer is 5 months and it seems like time is just flying by. He’s developing the sweetest personality and all of us can’t get enough of him.

Well, maybe at 3am … I kid.

He is getting SO big – let me explain…

  • He has TWO teeth and still a drooly face
  • The sweetest BLUE eyes
  • Eats big kid foods! Favorites are bananas and sweet potatoes
  • Enjoys nibbling on his toes
  • Favorite toys include: singing peacock and jelly cat books
  • LOVES his jolly jumper
  • Rolls over the second you lay him down
  • Can pull him into a seated position but needs some assistance when he gets there
  • Over 17 lbs and 27 inches – similar to Hudson at this age
  • Big fan of cell phones and apple watches – also loves to FaceTime
  • Rubs his head/hair when he’s drinking a bottle
  • When I rock him he likes to reach up and play with my mouth
  • Has perfected blowing raspberries
  • Fascinated by his pup
  • Can take out and put in his pacifier all by himself
  • Actually, puts everything in his mouth.
  • Tries to hold his own bottle
  • Does really well in the car still – win!
  • Still doesn’t sleep through the night, but some nights we’re lucky.
  • Wearing 6-9 month outfits and size 3 diapers
  • Obsessed with his daddy and I’m okay with it 🙂
  • Tough kiddo – getting constantly scared by hi older brother and does well with the nose frida!
  • Boy can SQUEAL!

Palmer,

Goodness how I love youuuuu. You have the sweetest face I’ve ever seen. You literally light up and give us the biggest open mouth smile every time we look at you. You giggle a bunch but you have this little grunt that is so cute and you have this honk thing that let’s us know when you’re not really happy. You rarely lose your mind and love car rides. You bring so much JOY and excitment and I’m in awe of your ability to bring another level of love I never knew existed. You and your brother are my entire world and I love watching you both grow up together. Mama loves you more than you will ever know, sweet boy.

#Putfiltersfirst with Brita

This post is sponsored by Brita but the content and opinions expressed here are my own.

We’re really not a water bottle family. We have a cupboard dedicated to re-usable cups for water, coffee what have you. But when it comes to having filtered water readily available, without the single use plastic – that’s been a hard one. Thankfully, the new Brita Filtering Bottle solves that problem.

As an active family – we bike a ton, go to the farmers’ market every weekend and spend plenty of time outside, and we always take water with us. Having two boys now it’s critical to have water with us – Florida summers are no joke and the heat is real.

The beauty of this bottle though it comes with a filter system so you can fill up at any water fountain and get great tasing water on the go. And that’s not even getting to the main point here…

ONE of these Brita Filtering Bottles (if used for an entire year) could replace up to 1,800 plastic water bottles. That’s HUGE!

Part of it is definitely the convenience aspect – knowing you have the ability to access cleaner and great tasting water – but the other FEEL GOOD part is being better to the environment. If we all tried to be a little bit more environmentally friendly how grateful would our one and only earth be?

The Sunroom

I was able to plan a girl’s night, that we redeemed last Friday.

All week I thought it was going to be rescheduled. With jobs, families, etc – I totally get it, but we all made it work.

We made plans to grab tacos and then head to the Sunroom for a couple drinks. Since I’ve done .a few photo shoots in their space, I reached out in advance and I’m glad I did.

We scored a perfect terrazzo table (with Makr bench and stools) and we drank, talked and laughed for 3 hours straight.

If you haven’t been to the Sunroom yet – make plans to. The drinks, atmosphere and bartenders are all worth the hype.

Summer Dress Up

sponsored by Velvet Heart Clothing and Fossil but the words expressed are my own.

Sometimes you need to slip into something carefree – like a stripe dress (a tad wrinkled – but whatever, real life!), faux leather slides, a backpack and a hat because second (maybe even third) day hair is a total thing.

Moms have nano seconds to get ready sometimes, luckily having items like these in the closet to grab and go just works – even for the summer heat advisory.

5 Things

1 // Motherly Musings Posts

I’ve been referencing a lot of blog posts about Hudson to try to remember certain things – like habits, milestones, firsts etc. I ended up reading a bunch of my Motherly Musings posts which still ring true and actually left me laughing.

Even though it’s their playroom, it still has to look kinda-sorta nice(ish)
Kisses, even if they have boogers/spit/food all over their face, are always always welcome.
To catch yourself just staring at them, in complete utter amazement.
Sleeping baby photos are the best.

2 // Unfollowing

During maternity leave, I noticed a slight decline in engagement and followers. Part of me wants to frown and the other part, well gets it. It’s not all about fashion anymore and if that’s what you want then yeah, probably other accounts to follow. And just like the caption is to this sketch – I gotta do a IG clean out as well… so many are getting lost in the shuffle.

3 // Down to Earth

With designing a new house (again) from top to bottom this time, home decor like this and generally “down to earth” vibes is really what I’m going for.

4 // July To-Do List

I usually spot these in my feed and I’ll stop the scroll. Maybe not entire list motivates me, but usually a few do. It’s a nice reminder to set monthly goals. I can check one thing off the list – I did plan a girls night – can’t wait!

5 // Katherine Power on Pinterest

She has amazing style – no doubt – but she’s been pinning a ton of interiors and architecture lately that has me swooning. Who do you follow on Pinterest that is a must?!

My Ideal Outfit Right Now

  • Baggy wide leg pants
  • Whisper cotton tank
  • Slip on sandals
  • Grab and go backpack
  • Simple accessories

The pants, purely based on the cost per wear, is probably the best purchase I’ve made this year. Currently on sale for under $40 bucks y’all.

This tank can we be worn with EVERYTHING and now I want it in a million colors. Some colors right now are only $12.99.

Tan faux leather slides from Amazon Fashion are like Hermes but durable and fraction of the price.

And this super cute retro feel backpack – mama’s need their arms! – and simple accessories just complete the look. Like this Mejuri necklace!

Basically what I’m saying is that I need multiples of everything in different colors so I can wear this outfit on the DAILY and not feel bad about it nor get weird looks. Monday, you just got a new to do item. And how to incorporate more terrazzo into LunDev designs.

The Guesthouse’s new SUNROOM is a dreammmmm.

4th of July Look with ABLE

this post is sponsored by ABLE but the words and opinions expressed are my own.

I stumbled into Able in Nashville by chance. It’s a super cute brick and mortar store located next to a well rated coffee shop. Nick wanted coffee, and so did I, but I also made my way over the shop. I loved everything – from their denim, basics and leather goods – but I only snagged a t-shirt and gold ring.

Fast forward, to well now, here we are collaborating on a post and well I’m stoked about it. I love their mission, their goods and overall simplicity when it comes to design. I picked some new pieces of theirs that will get me through this 4th of July festively but also through the rest of the year because well made products really don’t go out of style.

Anyway – give this worth while LOCAL + GLOBAL brand a glimpse. Able, thanks for making a beautiful difference for our country but also for others.

Now it’s time to celebrate! Happy birthday, America! Let’s grab a drink. Or two.
