A Reason to Celebrate

Happy birthday, Mama. 

What a whirlwind it’s been but how great it is to take a second to celebrate you. The fact you’re here striving, getting stronger and doing your best after everything you’ve been through is inspiring. I know it’s “just another birthday” but the reality is, no matter what your age, it’s a reason to celebrate. 

You are a reason to celebrate.

I know this day is hard because of Papa, but don’t let that get you down. HE and Baba are looking down heart eyes. You gave me life, so I can give life and that’s a crazy beautiful thing. I have the greatest teacher and mentor and I can’t thank you enough for empowering me to be me. With a side of you, of course, but luckily for me I didn’t fall far from the mama tree.
