Weekend Wants

Blending In

You know that beach boutique I won’t shut up about? 
Well, I did cave and buy these super comfy, silky, the perfect shade of blue with tiny lace detail shorts from them.
I was told I need to wear them every day of my life now (HA, fat chance) but they are that comfortable and would easily fit in my suitcase for the trip home. 
A perfect little memento from our trip that’s also a perfect piece for Florida weather 🙂

Lem Lem

The boutique on property was the coolest resort store (and well, boutique) I’ve ever seen.
Run by a Londoner, he curates a bunch of hand crafted goodies from all over and sells them at his three shops – St. Lucia, Greece and Portugal. What a gig, right?!

Gorgeous jewelry, beaded sandals, bright and airy cover-ups and the cutest woven bags. I really did want all of it.

Most of the brands I wasn’t privy too, but Nick did pick up this Lem Lem shirt for me on a business trip to LA not that long ago and this boutique had a ton of Lem Lem in it.

I felt proud that I even packed this shirt, especially since the resort sold the brand. And also thankful my husband bought it for me to begin with.

However, I ended up buying a bracelet and some silk shorts, that I’ll share soon 😉

*These photos were taken at the “sunset deck.” A lot of weddings take place here and it’s a really cool elevated spot to watch the sunset over Sugar Beach.*

Motherly Musings

To find yourself just staring at your kid and thinking, I made you. 

To want to catch, brace and limit any falls, scrapped knees and/or bruise heads. But deep down you know you can’t. 
To think your kid is smarter than you most days. He knows sign language and well, you don’t. 
Dancing non-stop holding your 25+ lb little in the living room is totally a work out. 
To actually like Sherrif Callie and Doc McStuffins #homegirls 
To have the truck, police siren and dinosaur sound down. 
Before he takes a bite, you do. Because those kid fruit snacks are SO good. 
The thought of saying “13 months” is worse than saying a year.
To find yourself pointing out a bike or a puppy to the adults you’re with. 
To see your little in pure joy and actually feel it. 

Crisp

Everyone on the way to St. Lucia said we packed “light.” 

From our driver at the St. Lucia airport to our butler at the Sugar Beach resort… 
“That’s it?!” Yup. That’s it. 
A carry-on for each of us and a personal item. I like packing the necessities really. 
Less to mess with when you’re there and besides, we were going to the Caribbean. How much do you really need?
Naturally though I packed a sweater and a crisp pair of white jeans. 
When the sun goes down there is a slight breeze off the coast and with sun-kissed skin, it can get chilly. But the light colors always look nice against the beautiful background and helps boost that suntan glow.
They also gave us some insect repellent, which I take super serious. Florida mosquitoes LOVE me and I h a t e bites. So at night I tried to wear either long sleeves or long pants. 
This was a perfect outfit change our first real night there.
